Animals, just like humans are venturesome. And for some it seems there’s nothing to stop their adventurous spirit. It is the case of Belle, a pygmy goat who just needed a little adventure.

Earlier this week, the goat had been reported missing from her farm in Greenfield, Saddleworth, UK. However, Belle’s s big adventure was short-lived as she was found at a tram station. She was patiently waiting the next tram to Manchester. Maybe she had planned a trip there, who could understand those goats anymore? Just as no one could explain how she got there in the first place. And not to say that the tram station was ‘only’ 25 miles away from her home. But it seems we should never underestimate a goat!

“I definitely think she was stolen as she turned up 25 miles away. There is no way she could have got that far on her own,” Julie Swindell, the goat owner said.

After receiving a phone call from a passenger, Louise Fields, from the Dogs 4 Rescue in Salford, went to the tram stop in Sale, Greater Manchester to greet the unusual passenger, Metro reports.

“It was so funny the way the commuters were just on their phones – how could they resist have snuggles with a goat who was right there? ‘The owner came to collect her. She thought she would have been in the pot,” Louise said.

After her short adventure, Belle was brought back to her home.

There were countless occasions of animals proving to be much like humans when comes to empathy and emotions. As hard is for us to believe it, animals have feelings too. And we all have something to learn from their strong bonds, build among different species.

A family witnessed an inspiring moment like this. They’ve been noticed a very close connection between their dog and one of their cows. However, they never thought the bond between those two different species could be so powerful. And they were convinced of it, only when the cow was about to be sold off.

Rookie the dog and a large cow were spending most of the time together. While Rookie is an energetic, jovial dog, the cow was like a mother for him. The two even slept together in the cows encounter. And strangely, when the cow was taken to be sold off, Rookie seemed to be in such a deep grief. He just ran after the truck were the cow was put in, ignoring all his owner’s callings.

For Rookie, being separated from the one who raised him and treat him like a son, was heart-breaking. He lost all his energy, his appetite…all his enthusiasm.

The owner could not stand to see his dog being so sad all day long. So he decided there was only one thing to do for Rookie to be same again. And the cow mother had returned. His owner decided to bring her back, because all he wanted was to see his beloved dog happy again. That despite the cow was far more expensive for the family financially. More than that, he brought another small puppy so Rookie to have a new companion of his kind, too.

As the San Diego roads aren’t busy enough already, a new kind of delay showed up. According to CBS 8, a sea lion lolled out on to a road in Point Loma, California. The animal appeared in the San Diego neighborhood in the afternoon, stopping traffic and drawing a crowd.

While people were wondering what’s going on and how the animal did get there in the first place, the female sea lion appeared not to be bothered by the scene she was causing. Actually she was taking a nap, according to eyewitnesses, CBS reports.

NBC San Diego reported that the sea lion was using the road to scratch her back, but no one can explain how she got there in the first place — especially since she was pretty far inland.

However the police was alerted and an animal rescue team from SeaWorld San Diego showed up. The sea lion was carefully loaded into a vehicle and taken to vet for further examination. SeaWorld Senior Animal Care Specialist Heather Armentrout said the female sea lion didn’t appear to have any injuries but did say it was odd for her to be in the street.

She was taken back to SeaWorld where the staff was going to check her out with plans of releasing her to the ocean, Armentrout said.

Flora and Dexter shared a special relationship. They spent every moment together. But when the 22-year-old Dexter passed away, Flora was heartbroken and her owners were afraid for her life as she refused to eat anymore.

However what makes this love story so unique was actually their incredible and unlikely friendship. Flora is a 100-pound malamute and Dexter was a little 20-year-old cat when they met. Dexter was a senior dog when Jill Williams and her family adopted him from Best Friends Animal Society, the same rescue that brought Flora into their lives.

“Flora was adopted by our family in 2013 from Best Friends Animal Society after I saw her picture on a Facebook post,” Williams, who also works at the organization, said. Though the Williams already had a house full of pets, and they weren’t looking to adopt, something about Flora’s face just grabbed her attention. “I could not stop smiling when I saw her.”

Hesitant and unsure at first, Flora became soon after the heart of the family. Flora is a “sweet, smiley marshmallow of a dog.” All of the dogs and cats in the home look up to her as a matriarch. “She is larger than life, in both stature and good nature. Sometimes I think, ‘She can’t be a real dog! She’s just so special and soulful,’” says Williams.

As about Dexter, he came into their lives in a similar fashion. However, what the Williams never thought was how Flora will welcome the tiny cat.

“We were pretty sure that if we took in a homeless cat, even temporarily, we’d need to keep them separated,” she says. “We had no clue how our dogs would receive a feline family member.”

“How am I going to bring home a 20-year-old cat who looks like he already fulfilled his nine lives?” Williams thought. But Dexter was persuasive. He meowed and wove through her legs and put his paw on her lap when she knelt down. It was clearly meant to be.

A sweet, mellow, velcro cat, when Dexter met Flora for the first time, their bond was instantaneous. “It was like Dexter said, ‘Oh hey, you are super fluffy and really warm. Mind if I curl right up here with you?’” They spent all their day and nights together, napping and snuggling.

Unfortunately, two years later, Dexter passes away and the whole family was devastated, but especially Flora. “She would stay outside and howl,” says Williams. “It made us very sad.”

So, the Williams decided to foster kittens who would have a place to live until they were old enough to be spayed or neutered and then adopted.

“This would free up room in the kitten nursery for more at-risk kitties, and it would also teach my boys a lot about responsibility, not just in the caring, feeding and socializing aspect, but why it’s important to spay/neuter to prevent a whole lot of kittens — in the most PG-rated version of things,” says Williams.

So next day, the family welcomed Iggy, Bowie, Roxie and Glamour. And they were as playful and curious as some 10-week-old kittens can be.  “We asked the foster coordinator if we should allow them to meet our cat-friendly pooch, knowing that exposure and acceptance to dogs can up the chance of a kitten getting adopted.”

So it was about the time for Flora to meet the newest members of the family. The kittens walked right up to the big dog. “They were so curious and brave,” says Williams. “They walked right up to her like ‘oh hi!’”

Flora sniffed every one of them, and then started to lick their tiny heads. Iggy, the male Snowshoe Siamese, was smitten. “Flora was happy,” says Williams. “She lay down and got very relaxed and smiley.”  Eventually, the kittens all got adopted.

Thousands of primates are hunted every year because of the bush meat trade in Africa. This hurts their family structure as well as destabilizing the whole ecosystem. And because of poaching, many baby primates are left orphaned.

Fortunately for this baby baboon named Missa, she was able to escape a life meant for bushmeat trade. After her mother was poached for her meat, she was left all alone. And most likely she would have shared the same destiny, but luckily she was rescued.

Missa was discovered by park rangers in Garamba National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the hands of a poacher. The man has since been arrested and charged for.

Park rangers were very determined to save Missa after her terrifying experience. They were able to arrange for her to have a helicopter ride to the Centre de Rehabilitation des Primates de Lwiro. A place for her to regain her strength.

At the rehab center, Missa wasn’t the only one with such a hard past. Here was an older baboon named Grace. She had been rescued from a hotel where she was kept alone in a small cage.

Rescuers felt that introducing Missa and Grace would be a productive way for the two to heal. They were right, and the results were so touching. Missa was clearly comforted by Grace and she was warmly accepted into her life. They were a perfect match.

“Two dramatic and sad lives are now united,” said Itsaso Vélez del Burgo Guinea, technical director of the CRPL.

I am so happy to see that such a story has a happy ending, as well as Missa and Grace found each other!

Do animals love their own offspring or species? Of course, they do. We don’t need to look at Animal Planet to find out this petty news. But can one animal love the babies of another animal – a different species? That is something that we need to think about. Chances are – they may like them, but not really like them as much as they like their offspring.

Well, if you were in Rode, India, then your opinions would have taken a drastic turn. Why? Well, in India, a monkey did something that was almost unimaginable. A rhesus macaque monkey saw a small puppy on the street and immediately adopted it. It was like a parent – trying to protect this little munchkin from other stray dogs. No one dared to come near them.

The locals were delighted to see this wonderful scene. Their affection for each other – almost like a mother and child – made their heart melt. So, the local people started setting down food nearby for the monkey and the adopted puppy. Surprisingly, the monkey actually let the puppy have the first bite.

This really shows us the amount of love that animals can share – almost parental love. We could really learn something about bonds and relationships from this monkey-puppy bond.

Recently, artist and photographer Laurie Wolf came upon an unusual scene in her yard while inspecting her various bird houses: an owl next to a duckling.

Laurie lives in Jupiter, Florida with her family. They have several nesting boxes of different bird species in their backyard.

One day, to her surprise, the American noticed that a carolina-duck mother moved one of her eggs from her nest box to another. “We thought she moved him because her nest had been invaded – there were egg shells in the bottom of the box,” he told The Bored Panda.

The next day, after witnessing this fact, Laurie saw an owl move to the box where the eggs used to be. A month later, a little duck appeared next to his “foster mother.”

“Seeing the owl with the duckling was, honestly, the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen! It’s still hard to believe, “Laurie said. “I’m sure the owl hatched the egg because it was in the box with him for a whole month,” she added.

The escape

Although the scene is very cute, Laurie was worried that the predatory owl could eat the duckling.

Contacting a bird specialist, his fears were confirmed. A wildlife sanctuary agreed to take care of the ducklings if Laurie could capture them.

However, as she tried to rescue him, the animal jumped out of the nest and ran to a nearby lake, on a neighboring property.

In the social network Facebook, Laurie added that the duck started to make noise, probably crying out for help from his parents. They must have heard because they suddenly stepped out of their box into Laurie’s backyard and headed straight for a fence in the back toward the nearby lake.

The American and her family have not seen the duckling since. “The lake is on our neighbor’s property and is very hidden,” she said.

Carolina ducks and borrowed nests

A duck being hatched by an owl may seem totally bizarre, but this is not the only case we are aware of. According to National Geographic, carolina-ducks have been recorded living with owls in the past.

“It’s not commonly documented, but it certainly happens.” “Explained Christian Artuso, director of Bird Studies Canada, who made a similar observation in 2005 while studying owls for his doctorate.

It is known that the carolina-ducks practice parasitism of young. This means that they sometimes put an egg or two in the nest of another creature, whether it be another carolina-ducks or some other related species.

The idea, according to Artuso, is to ensure the species’ perpetuation: “If you spread your eggs, your chances of transmitting your genes increase a little, especially if you lose your own eggs to a predator.”

According to the scientist, although the practice is known, its frequency is not. “So I was happy to see another example,” he concluded.

Rocky Kanaka has dealt with many dogs in his life, but nothing could prepare him for what he was about to find. A terrified dog, named Blossom, was rescued and taken to the shelter along with 150 other dogs.

Blossom was afraid of everything

The poor dog had mentally turned off and did not know how to act like a dog. A few weeks had turned into months and, she could not stop shaking. So, Rocky knew he had to do something to change her life…

The feel of grass on her feet, the sunlight and making eye contact were just a few of the things that made Blossom hide under a table. Then, Rocky decided to remove the table and build a small room for her.

Little by little, Blossom began to come out of her shell. After two months, she even jumped on the couch to curl up with her foster father! Now the day came when she left and ran wagging her tail for the first time.

This lovely dog has come a long way and is ready for an eternal home, thanks to the hard work of Rocky Kanaka!

There are some people who wake up very quickly, and any noise is a reason to get them up from a deep sleep. While other people don’t wake up with despite the noise at all. But what happens when we are in a coma?

In Andy Szasz’s case, the barking of his pet was what woke him from the deep coma he was in.

Little Teddy has now been baptized as his owner’s guardian angel, having aided in his recovery. The hospital staff, at the request of Andy’s wife, authorized his dog’s visit and allowed him to sit next to his bed.

“They put Teddy in my chest and he woke me up. Somehow, I think he’s my guardian angel,” Andy said.

Help with recovery

In 2016, Andy Szasz, a 65-years-old man, was doing treatment for bowel cancer when he also had pneumonia. Which greatly aggravated his state of health, and the doctors then decided to induce him into coma.

In weak health, Andy’s wife asked the hospital staff if it would be possible to get Teddy to visit her husband. The doctors authorized the visit and lay him on his chest.

After 4 days in a come, he woke with Teddy on his chest, licking his face. That left the doctors amazed by the situation.

After being discharged from the hospital, Teddy has been a key part of Andy’s recovery process. His faithful companion remains by his side and always accompanies him in his daily walks and exercises.

Animal Therapy

And the great friendship story between Andy and his little dog has gained momentum on the media channels. They participated in an episode of Dog Rescuers, a British television program accompanying the animal charity work of RPSCA, an organization that promotes animal care. The focus of the episode was the transforming power of therapy dogs in patient recovery.

“I always tell people that I rescued Teddy and that he rescued me. We have a special bond,” Szasz tells The Times.

Today, Teddy is not just a pet dog. He’s officially a therapy dog. He works at Southampton General Hospital now. He and his owner, Andy, who has also volunteered for more than a year, have helped several patients with animal therapy. And it does not stop there. He still visits other patients in nursing homes, schools and medical centers in the UK.
