We all have best friends. And those of us who have dogs, or love dogs, all hope we are our dog’s best friend. But sometimes they can have a relationship so wholesome that you just don’t care. Being the second favorite is fine when your pup’s BFF is an adorable stuffed toy. That’s what happened with Barley the golden retriever.
Zita Butler got Fluffy (the stuffed animal) as a welcome home present for Barley when he first arrived. The toy dog even kind of looks like it’s golden retriever BFF. However, Zita didn’t imagine that the pair would have such a close bond.
Barley takes Fluffy everywhere with him. Everywhere. Around the house, out for a walk, the lot. As you can see in the video, they even watch football together! Zita lives with Barley and the rest of her family in Amsterdam, and they don’t care that Fluffy goes everywhere too. They’re just glad Barley has a friend for his adventures.
“He’s an attention seeker, he’s a bit goofy. He’s a real explorer,” Zita said. However, the pair form the cutest couple we’ve ever seen. It’s making us want to get a golden retriever, or at least a stuffed toy!
People notice the iconic duo around town and Zita posts constant updates on her Instagram feed. What more could you want to see than these cute besties? It’s the perfect antidote to those workday blues.
