We’ve all heard the phrase “fighting like cats and dogs,” mainly to describe two animals (or humans, for that matter) that are always at odds with each other.
However, relationships between cats and dogs are possible, depending on their personalities and their owners’ patience and understanding. And while the initial introductory period can be tricky, this unique relationship can be quite rewarding for both species.
Charlie and Scout proves that dogs and cats can truly can be friends.
This is the story of two inseparable best friends, Charlie the dog and Scout the cat. When Charlie got sick with cancer, Scout wouldn’t leave his friend’s side.
Unfortunately, Charlie recently lost his battle with the disease, and Scout reacted in the most heartbreaking way. I suggest you go get some tissues.

Charlie and Scout were best friends.
As soon as Scout was brought home (at only 5 weeks old), she couldn’t sleep anywhere else but next to Charlie.
The two became inseparable.
What do you do for your pets when they miss their other pets? In this technological age, a lot more than you used to be able to. This cat was best friends with a dog, who had died of cancer. When the dog was finally gone, the cat seemed to still be looking for him. What their owner did helped give the cat peace, and maybe the owner felt more at ease as well..
Charlie was always sure to be gentle around his tiny friend, and pretty much let her do what ever she wanted to him.
They even ate dinner together. Scout’s favorite thing was to smell Charlie’s ears.
The two were rarely apart. Everywhere Charlie went, Scout would follow.

Since he passed, their owners have been placing the iPad on Charlie’s old bed for Scout, playing videos of Charlie.
Scout likes to watch the iPad and curl up to the sound of Charlie’s old videos.
Scout misses her big furry friend a whole bunch.
The strong bond between cats and dogs amaze me more and more each day, they are best friends, it’s not true that there is enmity between them, it’s completely wrong, and this story proved it.
