Not all cats hate water.

An adorable ginger cat named Masuka loves water and will overcome any obstacle to get to it. While he loves to lounge in the bathroom sink, he quickly realized there were water sources all over the house. At first, he became infatuated with the water cooler and the knob that the water came out of. He managed to figure out how to push the lever and make water come out.

His mom, Tina, was not mad but impressed with his skills. However, she did not want water running all over the floor, so she turned the lever around on the water cooler. But that did not stop Masuka.

Masuka’s love for running water did not end there. He realized that every time his mom was in the shower there was a steady stream of running water waiting for him to play with. Tina was startled the first time the curious cat started to claw at the shower curtain.

A shadow appeared and then vigorous scratching at the curtain – something straight out of a horror movie. Masuka was determined to get to the running water, no matter what he had to do. He figured out that he could use his claws to make a hole in the shower curtain and access the water, while also scaring his mother.

After many shredded shower curtains, Tina put up a simple shower liner and embraced her cat’s behavior. She even took a marker and drew funny pictures around the openings. If you can’t beat them, join them.

Tina posted a picture of one of her drawings with the caption, “No such thing as privacy hooman…NONE”.

“Cats will destroy your things. You can’t have nice things,” said Tina.

Masuka was a stray cat that Tina found outside her old apartment. She always fed the stray cats but Masuka made his way into her apartment and the rest is history. He is a special cat and even allows his mom to dress him up for pictures.

Masuka shares his home with two other feline siblings, Dexter and Ling. However, he demands the most attention. His wild antics and love of water have earned him over 12K followers on Instagram. There is never a dull moment with cats.

Watch the feisty feline claw his way through the shower curtain in the video below and don’t forget to share.

If you have a cat, or have even been around a cat, you know they have a propensity for trying to fit into spaces far too small for them. Many a box has been ruined by a cat with a misguided sense of her size. From shoe boxes to refrigerator boxes, cats zero in on cardboard and make it their own. The question is, why? Is it because they know how adorable it is? Or do they get a thrill from making sure we have to keep climbing over whatever random box they have made their home for the day? Well, science has finally (possibly) found the answer!

It turns out, according to a new study from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, that cats use boxes for stress relief. Researches took 19 cats that were new to shelters and gave 10 boxes, while the other 9 did not. Over a 14 day period, the felines with boxes showed far less stress on the Kessker and Turner Cat-Stress-Score (CSS), and adjusted to the shelter environment far better than their box-less cohorts.

Cats are also awful at resolving conflict. If you have more than one cat, pay attention to where they go after a squabble, or to avoid one. Chances are, they are hitting an enclosed space, most likely a box. Hiding out in them helps them ignore whatever is stressing them out. That’s assuming your other cats don’t try to follow into the same box. . .

Outside of stress relief, boxes also provide something every cat needs: extra warmth. Cats prefer to stay between 86 and 97 degrees Fahrenheit, about 20 degrees higher than the average temperature of homes. Since cardboard is such a great insulator, curling up in boxes helps them maintain their comfort temperature. The same goes for cats curling up in a sink, or in a corner of the basement when they are too hot. They don’t do it simply to be cute (probably).

Curiosity killed the cat, as the old saying goes. But one insatiable feline may have found greed the bigger adversary after finding himself stuck with a peanut butter jar on his head.

Fortunately, neighbors spotted the orange tabby trying to extract himself from this sticky situation, and promptly called animal control. It took officers about two hours to find and free the feline, giving him plenty of time to reflect on his unfortunate decision to reach so far into the sticky container.

“When you are crushin’ the night with Winnie the Pooh but he rolls out early while you’re feasting…” officers joked on their Facebook page (post-rescue, of course). Rescuers — who promptly nicknamed the cat “Jiffy” — were also slightly surprised by this unusual scene.

Report Advertisement
It’s not unusual to find raccoons and other wild animals wrestling with empty food containers, but Jiffy didn’t appear especially feral or underweight. Nor do cats even really enjoy peanut butter, at least not the way their dog brethren do.

“That whole saying about ‘curiosity got the cat’ was true in this case,” Steve Beal, a manager with Lincoln Animal Control, said.

Even so, officers are applauding Jiffy for keeping cool during his harrowing adventure, which could have turned out quite differently if rescuers hadn’t found him in time. “It was a brave little cat,” Beal said.

Because it wasn’t clear where Jiffy lived, rescuers took the tabby to Capital Humane Society, a Lincoln, Nebraska, shelter that will either find Jiffy’s owners or put him up for adoption.

Hopefully, this curious kitty has learned his lesson and will stick to more cat-friendly foods in the future!

Amazingly, Tiffany Two was in incredible health at her advanced age. Aside from occasional high-blood pressure issues, Tiffany Two still had her vision, hearing, and was able to navigate the stairs of her home. “She’s not afraid of anything or anyone. She walks right past the dogs, she’s very feisty!” Sharon said to Guinness when Tiffany Two was officially declared the world’s oldest living cat. She also added Tiffany was also a sweetheart who loved to be petted.

Last week, Tiffany Two passed peacefully in her sleep. The world will miss this beautiful tortishell elder & feline celebrity.
